Abstract

This article aims to clarify which factors influence the travel destination decisions of Japanese tourists, which is particularly the case in Vietnam. The study will also highlight factors such as travel psychology and Japanese tourists’ satisfaction when coming to a country for tourism. In particular, this is important information in the strategy for drawing up a plan to promote tourism in Vietnam for Japanese tourists. As for the method used in this study, it is quantitative and qualitative. The data were collected via related documents. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis methods such as frequency and percentage to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of Vietnam’s tourism promotion strategy. The results revealed that strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of tourism in Vietnam have been clarified before presenting the future development trends of Japan's travel market.
