Abstract
2,6-Bis[(diisopropylamino)methyl]phenyllithium 1 reacted with trichloroborane etherate to afford dichloroarylborane 4. The treatment of 4 with Ag triflate provided bistriflate 5. The reaction of 4 with AgBF 4, however, afforded an unexpected product, borenium salt 6.
