Abstract

The letter, seen as a reality that emanates from a design principle, and is integrated into contexts and environments both diverse and transversal, is the main subject of the two research papers we are submitting. The letter as a design project, written letters against designed letters, static identities and dynamic identities, the digital environment and the typographic generation tools, are some of the aspects of our proposal to create a starting point in order to focus on multidisciplinary thinking concerning the letter, which also emphasizes its transcendent link with culture, technology and society at large throughout history.
