Abstract

A simple and efficient protocol for microwave-assisted solvent-free oxidation of hydrobenzoins to benzoins or benzils, benzoins to benzils, and alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes or ketones, using N-bromosuccinimide - neutral alumina is reported. ©ARKAT USA, Inc.
