Abstract
The papers in this issue contain papers that cover the fields of both speech pathology and audiology. The first paper examines cross-language perception by multilingual listeners from diverse Asian language backgrounds. The second article provides a platform for important discussion of issues relating to identification of early stuttering and sets out directions for future investigations aimed at developing optimal methods for early stuttering identification. The third paper in this issue represents the findings of an innovative study of the speech breathing patterns exhibited by clients with tracheoesophageal speech. The final two papers represent contributions from the field of audiology. The first documents the attitudes of Australian adolescents toward noise and the use of hearing protection, while the second identifies a number of factors that may influence amplification use in young adults with profound hearing loss with important implications for improving hearing health care.
