Abstract
The article presents trends in the intergenerational occupational mobility of men, women, whites and blacks in Brazil using data from 1996 and 2014. Evidences suggest that changes in families of origin — the increasing participation of mothers in the labor market — are closely related to the reduction of racial inequality in the chances of intergenerational mobility of adult daughters and sons.
