Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused panic in the world of education in Indonesia. The shift from face-to-face learning to online is a government step to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19. The limitations of learning media in online learning make it difficult for students to receive the knowledge provided, therefore it is necessary to develop a website-based virtual tour learning media. This study aims to produce learning media, as well as to determine the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of website-based virtual tourism learning media. Research on the development of website-based virtual travel learning media produces learning media that can display the original atmosphere or state of a place. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4-D development model. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students at SDN Pesawahan 1 and grade IV students at SDN Sebaung 1 for the 2020/2021 academic year. Based on the results of the validation of material experts obtained 82%, media experts obtained 97%, and expert practitioners 93.5%, with very feasible criteria. The results of the practicality of the media by students were obtained by 89.22%, with very practical criteria. From the field trial, it was found that the effectiveness of the media for SDN Pesawahan 1 was 68.4%, while for SDN Sebaung 1 it was 85.7%. It can be concluded that website-based virtual travel learning media can be used as appropriate, effective and practical learning media.
