Abstract
In order to reflect on production and consumption patterns aligning rational use of natural resources with conscious consumption and socio-environmental responsibility, higher education institutions have adopted effective environmental practices, and it is essential to include environmental management principles in organization's activities to promote sustainability in the environmental, social and economic dimensions. In 1999, Brazilian Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) created the Environmental Agenda in Public Administration (A3P) program, which aims to consolidate socio-environmental responsibility and encourage sustainable practices in public organizations. This research aims to analyze Cefet-RJ sustainability over the last five years of A3P membership, monitoring its progress and guiding potential sustainable practices in this public educational institution. It is expected that monitoring the consumption of natural resources, goods, waste and environmental actions adopted, in addition to compliance with annual goals established by Environmental Agenda in Public Administration – A3P, can contribute to the consolidation of sustainability culture at Cefet-RJ.
