The aim of this study was to review the effects of climate change on the agricultural sector of Turkey. The main policy documents and the literature related with climate change were used as main material in this study. According to the results, global average surface temperature had increased by 0.4-0.8 oC since 1860s and it would increase by 1.4 to 5.8 oC over the 1990-2100 period. In Turkey, it was estimated that the temperature would increase by 1.7 in 2050 and 5.1 in 2080. This climate estimation show also that the effects of climate change would occur severely in Turkey. Therefore, Turkey has tried to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change, its current actions could not be seen enough to meet the effects of future climate changes on the agricultural sector. Climate change in Turkey would cause considerable losses in the yield of crops at an increasing rate. Climate change should be an issue not only for the government and industry, but also for the scientists and farmers. Mitigation and adaptation strategies can help to minimize negative impacts of climate change and these need to be increased expenditures in research, technology, infrastructure, institutional innovation, data collection and policy support
