KUALITAS SPERMATOZOA CAUDA EPIDIDIMIS SAPI PERANAKAN SIMMENTAL PADA SUHU 5ºC DENGAN PENAMBAHAN CAIRAN OVIDUCT

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of fluid oviduct squeeze on spermatozoa cauda epididymis cattle peranakan simmental after equilibration at 5°C including live percentage, motility and abnormality. Cauda epididymis peranakan simmental cattle obtained from the Slaughterhouse of Solok City with ages ranging from 3-4 years collected using slicing method and evaluated microscopically. Semen was treated with fluid oviduct P1 (0%), P2 (10%) and P3 (20%) with 4 hours equilibration time. After completion, an evaluation of live percentage, motility and spermatozoa abnormalities was performed. Result of research of live spermatozoa percentage in each treatment were P1 (60,16 ± 2,71%), P2 (78,83 ± 6,83%) and P3 (71,33 ± 13,42%). Motility of spermatozoa each treatment P1 (58,33 ± 3,38%), P2 (72,25 ± 9,11%), and P3 (67,25 ± 9,47%). Spermatozoa abnormalities in each treatment were P1 (11.91 ± 0.91%), P2 (11 ± 1.26%) and P3 (11.66 ± 0.93%). The results showed that the addition of 10% oviduct fluid significantly affected (P <0.01) on the live percentage and motility of spermatozoa cauda epididymis of Simmental cattle.
