Abstract

A Dental implant is a surgical procedure of fixing an artificial tooth inside the jawbone and allowed to heal over a span of time, in that performing Socket Shield Technique (SST) by preserving some part of root inside the extracted part called 'Socket' and depending upon the shield and implant position inside the socket will give different results. Aim of this study is by adapting the SST for immediate implant placement after the tooth extraction will give better stability and success rate over a period. to over the conventional technique there are number of trials going on and how to come up with optimum stress generation while implant placement and have better stability to it. Different researchers reported that by keeping the shield of 1.2-1.5 mm will give better results for selection of proper dimension of implant for implantation. The stability and success rate of dental implant is still has to be more clinically verified and more number of trials has to be adopted for conclusion. As per recent report shows the use of modified shield will have chances of getting higher success rate over one-year span, this study gives clear idea for proper selection of shield thickness and implant size to generate optimum stress over bone with less complications rate.
