Abstract

Joachim Koch, Gerhard Schaldach, Harald Berndt, and Kay Niemax at the Institute of Spectrochemistry and Applied Spectroscopy and the University of Muenster (both in Germany) describe how computer simulations of aerosol particle introductions can determine whether certain types of commercial spray chambers or laser ablation cells exhibit the best performance or whether they can be improved by building a custom-tailored device.
