Abstract

Multiple cases with grouped, linearly arranged scars on the back, bearing a striking resemblance to each other, were seen during assessments of reported torture. More recent injuries of a similar type were also noted in a further case and could be traced back to treatment with Hijama (wet cupping). The cases presented illustrate the importance of a correct understanding of typical findings following alternative treatment methods.
