Abstract
Dialogue among the followers of different religions is a necessary condition for promoting peace, tolerance, harmony, and religious coexistence in today's world. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of interreligious dialogue from an Islamic point of view. The study is based on textual analysis and historical interpretation of the Qur'an and Sunnah. The research shows that the Qur'anic verses emphasise justice, diversity, and unity based on the origin of mankind. The Prophetic traditions (Sunnah) show equal treatment of both Muslims and non-Muslims. It inspires Muslims to behave honourably towards all irrespective of their religion. Finally, the study concludes that the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah constitute a model for promoting interreligious dialogue and harmony.
