Abstract
Operating a firm requires capital for investment as well as for its operational costs, including in IT-based firms. The problem is how to find out the contribution of each of these costs, especially IT investment, to the performance of its achievements quantitatively. For this purpose, in this paper the Cobb Douglas production function (CD) will be used to find out the in-intend contribution. The data used spans from 2004 to 2018 for three telecommunications and communication firms: XL, Indosat and Telkom. Completion of the CD production function in processing data using nonlinear and linear regression with the help of the SPSS application. Testing the data shows that the contribution of IT investment (I) is relatively smaller than equity (K) and labor costs (L). This only happened at XL, while at Indosat and Telkom the contribution of IT investment was even negative, which means that the investment did not increase performance, it decreased it. Another term, this has been widely known as the IT productivity paradox or a paradox between IT investment and the performance produced by the firm.
