Multifractal wavelet filter of natural images

Abstract

Using a very simple wavelet expansion, it is demonstrated that images can be represented as multiresolution objects in terms of an appropriate wavelet basis, in which each resolution level is an independent image. The resultant code eliminates a great deal of redundancy.
