Abstract
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have a major impact on the health of pregnant women and the fetus. They increase the risk of other diseases such as HIV, diabetes, hepatitis, and certain forms of cancer, and cause fatal outcomes. They have high morbidity in the world, so there is a global strategy of the World Health Organization to combat them. Knowledge about these STDs and STIs is of great relevance to the health care team and the health system, to provide adequate care for pregnant women, and to develop sexual education and prevention campaigns. A documentary search was carried out to collect and systematize the symptoms of the most frequent STIs and their epidemiological traits. The results show that there is great importance in the educational work to prevent STIs in the population, and it is concluded that training and training plans are needed for the villagers.
