Abstract

In this method a molten metal jet is ejected into the water layer formed on the inner surface of a rotating drum. Examples of lead and Pd alloy filaments are presented. The relation between the surface appearance and cross-section and the spinning conditions such as drum speed, jet speed, incidence angle of jet into the water layer and water thickness is discussed. This method is applicable to the production of amorphous filaments.
