Afterword: Representing Queens

Abstract

This brief afterword brings together key themes from the 'Representing Queens' cluster of articles spread across issues 37.2 and 39.1. The afterword discusses key questions posed by these articles on how and why certain queens and royal women are remembered and represented in particular ways. By drawing together the contents of the nine articles in the cluster, this afterword identifies unifying themes which illuminate the impetus behind changing representations of queens and royal women.
