Abstract

Unxiini trib. nov. is proposed to include the following genera up to now in Compsocerini Thomson, 1864: Chariergus White, 1855, Chenoderus Fairmaire & Germain, 1859, Unxia Thomson, 1860, Ethemon Thomson, 1864, Paromoeocerus Gounelle, 1910, Rierguscha Viana, 1970, Parunxia Napp, 1977 and Allopeba Napp & Reynaud, 1999, whose females present a brush on the seventh abdominal tergite used as oviposition strategy. In Cerambycidae, this kind of brush is exclusive to Unxiini. Keys to genera and species are provided and all the species are illustrated.
