Abstract

Porous tubular metallic substrate produced inexpensively by flame spraying method showed good compatibility with YSZ electrolyte. By using spray coatings for the SOFC components, single cells consisting of metallic tubular substrate were improved and evaluated. A duration test with the single cell was carried out in order to prove the durability and power stability at the temperature of 915 degrees C with the total running time of 7,100 hours. The cell behavior was monitored at a constant current of 400mA/cm(2). Power density of 392mW/cm(2)(0.7V x 560mA/cm(2)) was obtained at 5,000 hours of operation.
