Abstract

In distribution networks, the voltage unbalance occurrence is inevitable. The voltage unbalance can have negativeimpacts on the customer equipment and the network performance if it exceeds the permissible limit. This study proposes anovel control strategy to compensate for the voltage unbalance in stand-alone microgrids. The proposed control method appliesto the inverter-interfaced distributed generation units. The suggested control strategy is based on the decouple doublesynchronous reference frame (DDSRF) that is modified to improve its effectiveness. The modified DDSRF can effectivelydecouple the positive and negative sequence components. The simulation results depict that the proposed control strategyprovides faster dynamic response and more effective voltage unbalance compensation comparing to the DSRF-based controlmethod.
