Abstract

The article focuses on invasive fungal disease (IFD). It relates the growing incidence of IFD in patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy for haematological malignancies. It outlines the various approaches to manage IFD in patients undergoing chemotherapy or conditioning therapy for haematological stem cell transplant (HSCT). An overview of a meeting that explored IFD diagnosis and treatment is presented.
