Abstract
Two new withanolides, physapruins A and B, were isolated from the methanolic extract of the fresh aerial parts of Physalis pruinosa (Solanaceae), and their structures have been determined to be 4beta,14alpha,17beta,20beta-tetrahydroxy-1-oxo-20S,22R-witha-2,5,24-trienolide (1) and 6beta-acetoxy-5alpha-butoxy-14alpha-17beta-20beta-trihydroxy-1-oxo-20S,22R-witha-2,24-dienolide (2) on the basis of spectral evidence.
