Abstract

A recent trend of chemometrics for spectral analysis is summarized. A fundamental concept for the analysis of spectra using chemometrics by considering the spectra as multivariate data is presented, followed by the introduction of a quantitative analysis of spectra, classification of spectra, pretreatment of spectra, and spectral decomposition techniques using the latest examples of chemometric studies. © 2005 The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
