Abstract

In this paper, a method for inducing highly localised phase transformations at defined locations in the vascular system by applying uniform magnetic fields to an injected superparamagnetic colloidal fluid was investigated. The proposed design involves seeding magnetic particles on to blood vessel walls at designated sites though specific receptor-legend recognition, followed by the use of the anchored particles as magnetic traps for the injected magnetic colloid.
