Abstract

In this work, we study the evolution of the noise generated by a great road in the agglomeration of Sousse and its impact on an urban in vicinity. The objective is to develop a reliable strategic noise map to quantify the sound levels produced by the road and to compare them with the regulatory limits. To do this, we make use of the method NMPB-noise prediction to estimate the nuisances emitted by such traffic. The results show that the residents are exposed to significant noise power levels and a confinement caused by building amplifies it. These high noise levels can threat the quality of the environment and to impact the health of citizens. © 2013 IEEE.
