Abstract

The optical instruments such as plastic lens, prism, optical fiber, optical disk, magnetic disk, color filter, etc., comprise polymers involving monomers of disulfide compds. bearing ≥1 1-4 units of thiiranyl disulfide structure. Preferably, the optical instruments comprise copolymers of (a) 1,5-bis(thiiranyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrathiaheptane and (b) ≥1 compds. selected from episulfides, epoxides, polythiol/polyiso(thio)cyanate blends as polythiourethanes raw materials, polythiols, and homo-polymerizable vinyl monomers.
