Abstract

The GW many-body results for ground-state properties of two distinct families of homogeneous systems were presented. The two systems were the quasi-two-dimensional (2D) electron gas and a pair of interacting jellium slabs. Correlation energies beyond the random phase approximation were obtained. The results showed that GW is better than the standard density-functional theory (DFT).
