Makna Ritual Pengobatan Tari Longkap-Longkap dalam Aspek Seni Pertunjukan

Abstract

The Longkap-Longkap dance is a ritual dance that is functioned as a means of treatment by the Sakai tribal community in Bengkalis Regency, Muara Basung Village. This treatment ritual is carried out in the form of performing arts using dance as a medium of expression. The birth of the meaning of the Longkap-Longkap dance which is expressed through performing arts comes from ancestral traditions which are a form of embodiment of the culture of the Sakai tribe. This study used qualitative research methods approach derived from field data sources and literature. The results of the research found describe the lives of the Sakai people who use the Longkap-Longkap dance as a treatment ritual and are poured into the form of performing arts. The achievement of the meaning of the Longkap-Longkap dance comes from the dance movements, methods of treatment, trust and socioculture of the Sakai tribe.
