Abstract

The article reports on use of Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project 2013 National Inpatient Sample by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to know the annual cost of birth defect-linked hospitalizations in the U.S. Costs for birth defect-associated hospitalizations were maximum among patients aged less than one year compared with other age groups.
