Abstract

The electrochemical activity of silver nanoparticles using a green, eco-friendly and nontoxic method was investigated. Dried leaf Bardaqush extract (DLBE) solution was used as a green-reductant to produce the nanoparticles under a variety of conditions, such as extract concentration, temperature, and occupation interval. The formation of the nanoparticles was confirmed using FTIR, UV-visible spectroscopy and TEM imaging. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) showed a significant improvement in the charge transformation and conductivity of the AgNPs/GCE-modified electrode compared to bare-GCE. The inhibition effect of AgNPs on the growth of microbial organisms, against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, was observed and the mechanism of AgNPs generation was discussed.
