Abstract

This paper presented the main results obtained by our study on the syntheses and molecular structures of organolighterlanthanoide compounds in recent years. The synthetic methods for preparing cyclopentadienyllighterlanthanoide chlorides are described. New types of phenyl derivatives of neodymium such as Li(DME) 3 (C 5 H 5) 3 NdC 6 H 5, Nd 2 (CH 6) 3 and C 6 H 5 NdCl were synthesized by the reaction of (C 5 H 5) 2 NdC12LiCl with LiC 6 H 5 and metal vaporization technique respectively. Organoneodymium hydride and the polynuclear neodymium-aluminium bimetallic complexes (Al 3 Nd 6 (μ 2 -Cl) 6 (μ 3 -Cl) 6 (μ 2 -Et) 9 Et 5 0-i-Pr) 2 and ((CF 3 OO) 3 NdAlH(C 4 H 9) 2) 2 were isolated and their structures are discussed. The reaction of the reduced product of neodymium trichloride by lithium methylnaphthalene with cyclooctatetraene was investigated. © 1988 IUPAC
