Are they ready? On the verge of compulsory English, elementary school teachers lack confidence

Abstract

All fifth and sixth grade elementary school teachers in Japan will soon be responsible for weekly English lessons in their classrooms. According to a survey conducted in Tokushima, few of these teachers feel confident about their ability to speak or teach English.
