Abstract
Reviews the book, Understanding nicotine and tobacco addiction by Novartis Foundation (2006). This book is a collection of the papers presented at their 'Symposium on Understanding Nicotine and Tobacco Dependence', held in London in May 2005. All the chapters are therefore written by various prominent researchers in the area and all focus in some way on the medical treatment of nicotine dependence or the biology of addiction.
