Abstract

This paper accounts for a bibliometric study, bibliometric analysis or documentary analysis which identifies and analyses scientific production in the field of Special Education For the period of fifteen years (2000-201) in Spanish journals indexed in SSCI. They were obtained a total of 1029 documents. The journals related to education were consulted in order to study different variables such as: productivity, trends in the field, time distribution or national and international cooperation. A predominance of research papers in Spanish mainly dealing with topics referring to curriculum, students, and contexts to the detriment of teachers has been observed. But predominantly, the individual authorship it is common the double and triple. The contribution foreign is poor except for Chile, EEuu and Mexico. Inside of Spain hightlights the participation of Andalucia, Cataluña and Madrid. The concern about the EE is remarkable and increasing, although it is localised and irregular.
