Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has solidified itself as a key resource in the transformation of multiple areas within organizations, and its application in information technology (IT) management is no exception. In this context, AI is used to optimize the management and monitoring of technological resources. This research employs the PRISMA methodology, which offers a systematic and rigorous approach to research review. The purpose is to examine the progression of the use of AI in IT governance based on 53 studies. An increase in the number of publications was observed between 2020 and 2021, followed by stabilization in subsequent years. Geographically, Indonesia stands out with the highest number of publications, followed by Morocco and Germany. In addition, several benefits that AI brings to IT governance have been identified, such as strengthening decision-making, optimizing processes, managing risks, and aligning technological objectives with organizational needs, highlighting its impact on efficient IT management. On the other hand, the most widely used framework is COBIT, which represents 60.38% of the articles, while the most common intelligent processing technique is Machine Learning, with 35 studies. In conclusion, AI in IT governance has proven to be effective, allowing companies to stay competitive in a constantly evolving digital environment.
