Abstract
Of 41 women with gestational trophoblastic disease 24 qualified for chemotherapy. There were 15 cases of trophoblastic disease limited to the uterus, 4 cases of metastatic process with good prognosis and 5 cases of metastatic process with poor prognosis. Single-drug treatment brought recovery in all women in the nonmetastatic stage and those who were metastatic with good prognosis. Multi-drug treatment brought recovery in 2 out of 5 metastatic women with poor prognosis. The basic examination qualifying the women for treatment and for the control of treatment effects in the course of its duration is the determination of the HCG concentrations with the aid of adequately sensitive quantitative techniques.
