Abstract
This study aims to produce teaching materials for folklore texts, as well as describe the feasibility and effectiveness of teaching materials for seventh grade students of SMP Al Muhajirin Tegalwaru. This research includes the type of research development or Research & Development (R&D). Researchers adapt and simplify the steps of Borg & Gall's research. Sources of research data obtained through interviews and surveys of teachers, lecturers, and students. The collected data were evaluated using descriptive statistics. The results of the validation from the Indonesian language teacher obtained an average score of 3.88 from the aspect of content/material, presentation, language, and graphics with a percentage of 97%. Meanwhile, the validation results from Indonesian Language and Literature Education lecturers obtained an average score of 3.6 from the aspect of content/material, presentation, language, and graphics with a percentage of 90%. After the product developed entered the revision stage, a trial was conducted on 30 students of class VII SMP Al Muhajirin Tegalwaru. The score of the four aspects tested is 3.92 with a percentage achievement of 98%. Based on field testing, the product of teaching materials based on Karawang folklore has met the criteria and is suitable for use in learning.
