Los efectos macrofiscales de la dolarización en Ecuador

Abstract

The research proposes to analyze the macro-fiscal effects of dollarization in Ecuador for GDP per capita, prices and, fiscal sector. The analysis is based on the synthetic control methodology, which seeks to build a synthetic Ecuador from the year 2000, with the figures provided by the control group countries, that is, a set of countries with similar socioeconomic characteristics that were not affected by the treatment, thus obtaining a counterfactual. Among the main results found, an impact of the measure is observed in the real sector, in the monetary sector and in the fiscal sector
