Abstract

A new monoamide derivative of chlorin e6 containing the piperazine fragment was synthesized and identified with MALDI MS, 1H NMR, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Our photophysical data {λImax(lgε) = 665 (4.62); γΔ = 0.52±0.06} do indicate that this macrocycle may be considered as a promising sensitizer for photodynamic therapy.
