Abstract

This paper presents a study of the dynamic behaviour of a dry friction system which is subject to instabilities of the Sprag-Slip type. The friction-induced vibrations are caused by the coupling of two modes. The dynamic behaviour of this mechanical is governed by a non-linear differential equations system. In a first step, a deterministic approach of the dynamic behaviour is performed: the classical resolution of the differential equations allows to determinate the dynamic behaviour and to analyse the influence of the parameters. In a second step, a robust approach is performed: in order to take account of the friction coefficient dispersion an interval analysis is used to integrate the differential equations system. The goal is to obtain a robust modelling of the dynamic behaviour of the dry friction system. © AFM, EDP Sciences 2010.
