Abstract

This research aims to formulate allometric equation ofjabon (Neolamarckia cadamba )Miq for estimating above ground biomass in private forests. Samples were totally 23 trees ofvarious stem diameters ranging from 10.5 cm to 30.2 cm. Above ground biomass based on tree fraction (main stem, branches, leaves) ofeach ofthose selected trees were measuredby means ofdestructive method. The data were analyzed with linier regression then transformed into logarithm form. The independent variable was dbh (diameter at breast height, cm) while the dependent variable was tree biomass (kg). The result showed that the diameter at breast height can be used as a single variable to formulate allometric model estimating the biomass ofjabon. The allometric equations for estimating above groundbiomass of 2.999 main stem, branch, leaf, and total was Y = 0.010 ( ) , = 0.001 ( ) 3.082, = 0.011 ( ) 2.135, D Y D Y D and Y= 0.014 (D) 2.958respectively
