Abstract

The problem of constant L∞, approximation of complex rational matrix functions is studied. A characterization of the solution is given. A suboptimal computational scheme, based on balanced realization for unstable systems, is developed, and corresponding error bounds are obtained. An L∞ error bound for unstable systems is derived. Optimal solution for a class of symmetric systems is explicitly obtained. © 1995, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
