Abstract

Welding parameters affected to weld joint performance. Optimize welding parameter of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding is not many studied. This study discussed Optimization from welding parameter of MIG welding used Taguchi Method. Tensile strength of weld joint was affected by welding speed significantly. Factor level welding current 100A, wire speed 65 inch/min, welding speed 6 mm/sec could get the optimize tensile strength. The value of tensile strength optimize when the average 44.07 kg/mm2 of Confirmation experimental and an average value 43.79 kg/mm2 based on Taguchi experiment.
