Abstract

It has been shown that 1-hydrosilatrane reacts with o-difluoromethpxybenzaldoxime in refluxing xylene without any catalyst affording a new type of silatranes - iminoxysilatrane. The first representative of them o-difluoromethoxybenzylideniminoxysilatrane (3) has been characterized by IR, 1H, 13C, 19F and 29Si NMR spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry, elemental and X-ray analyses. X-Ray crystallographic study indicates the presence of two independent molecules in the crystal with N → Si bond length of 2.073(6) and 2.088(5) A.
