Abstract

A design of pile foundation requires soil investigation data. Therefore, data and analysis from accurate soil investigations are needed to avoid the failure of the pile foundation. Soil investigation by using Standard Pentetration Test (SPT) and Cone Penetration Test (CPT) are commonly used in some projects. In this study, bearing capacity of pile foundation was calculated based on the SPT and CPT data, three formulas are conducted for each test to calcuate bearing capacity. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the bearing capacity according to the SPT test, the use of the Luciano Decourt's formula was more effective than the Nakazawa and Reese & Wright's formula. These results were obtained by comparing the bearing capacity with the results of the Pile Driver Analyzer (PDA) test. Meanwhile, bearing capavity according to CPT data, the use of the Meyerhof and Price & Wardle' formula produces high degree of similarity with BCR (Bearing Capacity Ratio) > 1.
