Abstract

ABSTRACT: The objective of this research was to analyze how science and biology teachers from public schools perceive Scientific Literacy in order of their teaching practices. The study was characterized as a qualitative and quantitative exploratory research. To this end, a structured questionnaire was used, which was applied virtually to Science and Biology teachers from the public school system. Thus, after data collection and analysis, it was possible to observe that part of the teachers who participated in the study do not epistemologically understand the difference between literacy and literacy (8,33%). In addition, the data reveal that although teachers understand the importance of scientific tools and that they add up to literacy, they still lack public policies to promote science and technology in basic education. KEYWORDS: Teaching practice; Teaching; Teaching methodologies.
