Abstract

Property management has existed in some form since antiquity. In the Middle Ages, stewards took rent and supervised maintenance for noblemen. Many people still put the property manager in the minor upkeep-and-collection role, neglecting to consider the dramatic impact property management has had on the investment value of real property. © 1979, The Regents of the University of California.
