Abstract

Noise driven excitable systems present a dynamics which consists of a complex sequence of pulses. In this work we analyze their interspike time distribution, and we find that the organization of the invariant manifolds of the underlying excitable system leaves its fingerprints in it. We derive approximate analytical expressions for the interspike time distribution. © 2000 The American Physical Society.
